Forest City Float is a Floatation Therapy Studio located in the River District area of Rockford, Illinois. Forest City Float also offers Infrared Sauna Therapy and is a sister company to Namaste Studios that offers Yoga, Qigong, Acupressure, Reiki, and Singing Bowl Meditation. At Forest City Float, we have the health and well-being of our community in mind. Everyone is different and everyone responds differently to therapeutic modalities.
Having emerged out of the economic crisis of 2008, and a serious medical journey with her husband, Tami Bogard, owner, yoga and qigong instructor, acupressure and reiki practitioner, and singing bowl artist, knew that there was only one thing for her to do -- and it wasn’t anything that anyone would have guessed. After many years of traveling all over town to her students, she needed to expand her business, to bring all of her offerings under one roof. Namaste Studios opened in 2010 in the forward space of our current loft.
Tami and her family realized in 2016 that they were destined to bring Floatation Therapy to Rockford. She pitched the idea to her landlord and progress started very quickly. Ben, Tami’s husband and Mike, Tami’s son, traveled to Portland, Oregon, a hotbed of Floating, and attended an apprenticeship on how to build and run a successful Float Studio. Construction began in March 2018 and they opened their doors to Forest City Float in March of 2019.
